More Questions Than Answers
Life moves in funny ways. The unexpected can happen to anyone. One day you will leave a doctor's appointment with more questions than answers. Your test was positive. Yes, you have an Autoimmune Disease. Or maybe you have several Autoimmune Diseases.
A chain of events happened for Nicola and Angela to start this webiste.
- Firstly, they joined Facebook at some point in their lives.
- They were both diagnosed with an Autoimmune Disease.
- They both joined the Lupus and Autoimmune Facebook sites.
But none of those Facebook groups were a closed group which allowed the Facebook members to comment without all their friends and family seeing those comments.
Nicola - who has been diagnosed since she was 16 years old decided to create her very own closed Lupus and Autoimmune Facebook group (Lupus Chit Chat & Support New Zealand) for New Zealanders, which would contain more relevant local information and support. Nicola, who had resigned from full time employment in 2015, was now self employed and worked mainly from home. Nicola had time to start working towards her goal: to advocate and support others like her in New Zealand. A friendship of kind started to develop between Nicola and Angela via the big wide world of web. They will probably never meet each other in person due to both having conditions that means travel is not easy.
Angela who now works from home building websites and Face-booking for companies, asked Nicola if she wanted a website linked to the Facebook group. The idea grew into something more and they decided to work together to help New Zealanders who have been diagnosed with Autoimmune Diseases to find local information.
The Facebook group name was changed to But You Look Fine New Zealand.
Welcome to the world of Autoimmune and 'But You Look Fine' and the big wide world of the web that is making our world seem smaller. Please join us on Facebook and sign up to our Newsletters. We hope you can find some great information and support from this website.
